Best camera for photographing dogs? This is a question on the minds of many pet owners, especially dog owners. We will discuss in this article what I found to work best to capture those beautiful moments of our furry little friends.

After many years of attempts to capture little puppies running around and having a great time capturing those moments, I found a few things along the way that will help when it comes to capturing those cute moments of our dog in action or simply being adorable. The first thing you want to look into is the camera’s weight, as most of those moments you want to capture will want to be at their level. Having a lighter camera can significantly help you achieve a better shot and help keep you relaxed during the photography session. You may think your cell phone is lightweight and will work in a pinch. While that is true, the optics of a cell phone and the sensor are nowhere near the same level as a digital camera.

The main benefit of using a digital camera is that it provides far more features and better optics than a cell phone camera. Digital cameras are lightweight, and they come in two different flavors which are mirrorless and mirrored, also known as digital SLR. The mirrorless cameras have a much lighter weight to them as they don’t use a mirror to reflect the image you are about to capture. Rather instead, they use a digital sensor that produces the image on an LCD within a viewfinder presenting the image. While the other kind of digital camera provides a reflective image that you see through the viewfinder of the camera, and the weight of these types of cameras is much heavier.

The next big thing you want to consider is the number of focal points. These are sometimes displayed in the viewfinder by small squares in different digital cameras; these points are how the camera captures the subject that you’re taking a photograph of, in this case, a puppy or a dog. You could be saying well, wouldn’t more points give you a better picture? You would be correct, as the more focal points you have, the more chances you have of capturing the image. It is handy when dealing with subjects that move around, like puppies and kids.

I have found that the Sony Mirrorless cameras have many focal points compared to other brands; the number of issues found is 399 points, making it much easier to capture those small little movements of our furry little friends or children.
